It was a beautiful spring evening and all one could hear was the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, and the sound of a finely tuned band and chorus as the South Plainfield Middle School Music Department performed the second night of baseball at the Somerset Patriots vs. Long Island Ducks baseball game April 22.  The concert band played the National Anthem and the chorus performed “God Bless America.”  Among those in attendance were 425 people there to support the band and chorus.  Included in the group were students, teachers, family, and friends.  The students have been working since January memorizing “The Star Spangled Banner” for this momentous occasion.  This is the music department’s biggest fundraiser of the year and all funds go towards music awards for the students at the end of the year.  The students’ performance and behavior made the Middle School Band and Chorus excellent representatives of our community.

If you would like the opportunity to see the Middle School Music Department, please attend the Middle School Spring Concert on May 19 at 6:30 pm at the South Plainfield Middle School Gym.  We hope to see you there!
