SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - A flood watch warning has been issued from this evening through Sunday evening for Middlesex  County, according to the National Weather Service. 

According to the alert, low-lying flooding is likely where the heaviest rain occurs. Streams, creeks, and rivers could be impacted according to the alert by late Sunday. 

"Rain develops this afternoon, and then a prolonged period of heavy rain will overspread the region tonight through Sunday night," the alert adds. "The axis of heaviest rain will fall along the I-95 corridor, where between two and three inches of rain is expected to fall from northern Maryland and Delaware, through southeast Pennsylvania, and into most of New Jersey. "

Anyone living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared, according to the alert.
