The Middlesex County School Boards Association held their February  2, 2017,  meeting at the Raritan Center Junior Achievement Building.  Guest speaker Jonathan M. Busch, Busch Law Group LLC,  gave a presentation on "First Amendment RIghts of Students and Staff ", where many of these cases have been brought to the United States Supreme Court.    During the meeting Kevin Ciak, named president-elect of the National School Board Association (NSBA), was honored by Resolution for his years of service, beginning at the age of 19 when he was elected to the Sayreville Board of Education and served for 23 years.  Kevin has also served as the President of the Middlesex County School Boards Association; vice president for county activities and vice president for legislation/resolutions and in 2013 named as the New Jersey School Board Member of the Year.  The Middlesex County School Board Association Team of Lucy Bloom - Sayreville; Deven Patel - South Brunswick and Elliot Stroul - Jamesburg, and Immediate Past President of MCSBA Cassie Greeley were also in attendance to congratulate Kevin.

Christy Tighe, Junior Achievement NJ Director, College & Career Readiness hosted a tour of the Junior Achievement-JA Biz Town, which provides a no-cost solution to schools and students' families, fulfilling a NJ education gap.  JA BizTown is an innovative educational opportunity for 5th and 6th grade students to lear about economics and business.   Junior Achievement is a program hosted for high school students, made possible by MetLife Foundation.  Pictured below R to L:  Debbie Boyle, Middlesex County School Boards Association President; Mark W.
