SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - A fast-moving fire raced through a home on South 9th Street Thursday night. The fire started at approximately 10:20 p.m. Occupants were able to flee the home and no injuries have been reported.

The South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department was able to contain the fire from spreading to the neighboring homes.  One of the occupants of the home is a SPVFD firefighter. 

According to Fire Official Joseph Abbruzzese, the cause of the fire as of Friday morning was not determined. There were other towns called in to assist with the fire, and the firefighters were at the scene until approximately 3 a.m. Friday morning.
