Anthony J. Rundella, Sr., 94, of South Plainfield passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at The Woodlands in Plainfield.  Born on May 17, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY to Battista and Bombina (Sancineto) Rundella, he was a life-long resident of South Plainfield.

Mr. Rundella was a proud Veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II.  He was a foreman for Cornell Dublier in South Plainfield for more than 25 years and continued working at various positions until the age of 85.  Anthony was a communicant at the Church of the Sacred Heart and a member of the Italian American Club and the V.F.W. Post 6763 in South Plainfield. He was an avid bowler and was affiliated with the Plainfield Country Club for 75 years. 

Mr. Rundella was predeceased by his four siblings and is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Felomena “Fannie” Rundella of South Plainfield, his beloved son, Anthony J. Rundella, Jr. and his wife Madeline of Bernardsville, his beloved daughter, Jane Rundella of South Plainfield and his cherished grandson, Alex Rundella of Bernardsville.  He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 27th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield.  Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.  Condolences may be sent to
