SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Hedwig “Hedy” Seitz, 93, of South Plainfield passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.  Born on May 30, 1921 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany to Alfons and Babette (Specht) Schweikert, she lived in South Plainfield for most of her life.

Mrs. Seitz worked at the Rutgers University Alexander Library for many years before her retirement as head of interlibrary loan.  Hedy was an active communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield.  She loved cooking and had her own cookbook published after her retirement from Rutgers. Hedy enjoyed sharing her book with all of her friends and colleages.

Mrs. Seitz was predeceased by her husband, John H. Seitz in 1985.  Hedy is survived by her two nephews, Klaus Geromiller and Michael Schweikert of Germany, her very good friend of 70 years Elizabeth Millard of Ephrata, PA, Sandra Millard and Tom Bainbridge of West Grove, PA, Jody Millard of Allentown, PA, and friends Linda Kelly and Lieke Krapels. She is also survived by many friends and colleages.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 1st at 10am at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. Hedy’s interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Hedy’s name to the Church of the Sacred Heart, 200 Randolph Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.  Condolences may be sent to
