SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Patrick Boyle, a native of South Plainfield, recently enjoyed a summer in one of the most prestigious collegiate summer baseball leagues in the country. Boyle played in the Northwoods League this past summer for both the Madison Mallards and the Thunder Bay Border Cats. While playing with Madison, Boyle pitched 15.1 innings and had 7 strikeouts. In his first two starts, he pitched a combined 10 innings and only allowed 1 earned run.

Boyle, who is entering his senior year as a member of the Drew University Baseball team, pitched 20.1 innings with the Thunder Bay Border Cats. He had the 3rd lowest ERA on the team for pitchers with 9 appearances or more. He went 1-0 with 1 save and a 4.42 ERA. One of Boyle’s teammates on the pitching staff, Vinny Santarsiero, was recently signed to a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
