SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The Perth Amboy Panthers defense scored the Panthers first touchdown of the game on a blocked punt, and later forced a fumble inside the Tigers five-yard line to set up a two yard quarterback sneak by Panther quarterback Tristan Rock for a touchdown, to lead the Panthers to a 12-10 come from behind victory over the South Plainfield Tigers.

The Tigers led 10-0 at half, but a second half marred with penalties and turnovers grounded the Tigers.  The Panthers defense kept South Plainfield off the scoreboard in the second half, and setup all the scoring the Panthers needed to defeat South Plainfield.

South Plainfield’s only touchdown score was on an eight yard touchdown run by Kyle Dickerson on the opening drive of the game.  The loss by the Tigers spoiled a tremendous defensive effort by Johnny Chillemi.  South Plainfield’s Chillemi had a blocked punt, and interception and a fumble recovery for the Tigers.

The loss drops South Plainfield to 2-5 on the season.
