PISCATAWAY, NJ – Known for her leadership as the director of the Piscataway Senior Center, Amy Bauman was recently recognized by the county for her work with the aging and has been awarded the 2019 Middlesex County Volunteer of the Year.

Mayor Brian Wahler, on behalf of the Piscataway Municipal Alliance presented Bauman with a proclamation at Thursday’s Council Meeting for the work she has done over the years with the Department on Aging and the Senior Center.

“I think she has a cot over there,” joked Wahler about the long hours he said she spends working with the aging population and at the Senior Center.

Bauman, who started her career in social work in 1997 at East Windsor’s Senior Center, and later at the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, became the Piscataway center’s director in 2009.
