Raritan Valley

The Raritan Valley Team capped off the season by wrestling in the League Tournament, this past weekend, where they had nine place winners. Capturing the title as the League Champion was Mustafa Beg.  Second Place was captured by Lawrence Parillo.  Third  place winner was  Nikash Patel.  Fourth   place was Aidan Kaplan, Sean Ferguson and Nelson Whalen. Fifth  Place was Pat Malhosky Ray Franchino and Alex Teal.  For some of our wresters, this was the first time competing in the  League Tournament. We are proud of their accomplishments as individuals and a team. Great job Raritan Valley!

Our Central Jersey team continues their winning streak as are undefeated in the Central Jersey League. With a League record of 13-0, Central Jersey continues to dominate the League. They will match up against long-standing rival Cranford, this Thursday, in Cranford. We wish our boys good luck as they finish off their bout season and prepare for their end of season League Tournament, in Clark, on February 26th.


Members of the SP Wrestling Club continue to test their ability in various state qualifying tournaments.  1st, 2nd or 3rd place winners secure a slot in the NJ Youth State Championship. The Tournament  is held in March at the expansive Sun Center Bank Arena in Trenton.

This week, we congratulate 8th grader Anthony White who earned his spot at the State Championship.  He will join  Alex Pigna, Nicholas Campagna, Aldo Pigna, Jeffrey Jacome,Tyler Balent  and our two first time qualifiers  Alex Teal and Nikash Patel. At this time, South Plainfield has  seven wrestlers from Recreation and one from Middle School going to the Youth  State Championship.
