SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Four district employees received tenure when the Board of Education met on Wednesday night. They are Theresa Tempe, Amanda Somers, Elyse Kanaley, and Ralph Errico.
Errico is the principal at Franklin School, and Tempe is the district’s human resources coordinator. Somers is a psychologist at the high school, and Kanaley teaches expressive arts.
Board member Debbie Boyle congratulated the employees, saying the board “is proud to have such dedicated teachers and staff.”
Assistant Superintendent of Schools Nicole Pormilli agreed: “We’re pleased to have such wonderful professionals working with us and our students on a daily basis.”
While the state changed its tenure laws last year, the recipients qualified under the old requirements, which typically required three years of service.
