South Plainfield, NJ – Patrick Diegnan, South Plainfield's hometown Senator, commented on the commencement of Phase II of the Hadley Road reconstruction project. The project is being funded by an $881,550 grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the largest such state grant in the history of the borough.

“As Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee and member of the Senate Budget Committee, I take great pleasure in helping my home town benefit from available state resources. Thanks go to Governor Murphy and NJDOT Commissioner Scaccetti for approving this grant. This along with the opening of the state of the art motor vehicle office on Hadley Road is another example of how working together we can continue to bring needed services to South Plainfield and the 18th legislative district."

As the second phase of the project advances, motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website for real-time travel information, and for NJDOT news follow on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
