SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - A surprisingly good deal just in time for the holidays has made its rounds on Facebook this past week, advertising 40 percent off your entire order at ShopRite.

The voucher appears at a convenient time for residents getting ready for the holidays.

The only downside: it's fake.

In response, ShopRite issued statements on Saturday through their Facebook page, alerting potential shoppers of the fraudulent coupon.

“Please be advised that the Giveaway-Coups.com coupon, pictured here, is fraudulent and will NOT be honored at our stores,” the post read.

Additionally, a banner atop the ShopRite website warns visitors of the coupon, reading, “It has come to our attention that an invalid coupon offer is being shared via Facebook. This invalid offer states you can receive 40% off any order by sharing and liking. Please disregard this fraudulent offer as it will not be honored in your local store. We apologize for any confusion this may cause.”

Alternate versions of the coupon link to Free-Giftes4u.xyz and wideawaygifts.xyz. Those have also been confirmed as fraudulent.
