Reading, PA- The South Plainfield White All-Star 10U Traveling team captured 1st place in the Annual Stonersville Cook-Off Tournament on Sunday, ending their season in the same championship style as the beginning.

The Stonersville Annual Cook-Off Tournament, hosted by the Stonersville Flames, was a battle of the best 14 teams in the area, pulling in teams from Maryland, New York and New Jersey.  The games were intense as South Plainfield battled hard from the start, defeating all three qualifying teams on Saturday and placing them as 1st place seed for Sunday’s single elimination day. 

During Sunday’s semi-finals, the Tiger’s stood strong, despite the scorching heat and humidity.  In the second round, with fans at the edge of their seat, the tiger girls knocked out tournament host, the Stonersville Flames in a dramatic 8-6 finish.   The finals were just as tough, but with big bats and intense determination, the girl’s proved they were the best.

With a tournament record of 5-0, and outscoring opponents 53-13, the South Plainfield White All-Star 10U Traveling Team captured the coveted Stonersville 1st Place trophy and ended their summer season as remarkable winners. 

The South Plainfield 10U White All-Star team is a 13-member summer travel team that participated in the Parkway League and tournaments throughout the summer. The coaching staff consists of Manager, Chris Colucci and coaches, Neil Gibson and Aleem Hosein.  The team includes Grace Capparelli, Grace Colucci, Sophia Colucci, Jessica Cooper, Kelsey Geurts, Alexandra Gibson, Alyna Hosein, Sara McNelly, Lindsey Oller, Sara Orlowski, Gianna Parlapiano, Nicole Sikora, and Angelina Walker.
