EDISON, NJ- The South Plainfield 11U Thunder captured the Edison 11U Tournament Championship.

The championship marked the second time this summer the Thunder won a tournament title. The Thunder placed second in two other tournaments.

This year was the best the Thunder has had since the Thunder’s first season as 8-year-olds.  Manager Ricky Donovan wants to recognize this year’s team: Vincent Esposito, Sam Nieves, Jordan Hanberg, Brody Donovan, Dylan Delisa, Ashwin Degroot, Colby Huber, Josiah Harvey, Danny Smith, Kennedy Ferherson, Nick Aiello and Robby Ginda.

The teamwork, practices, dedication and hard work is what led to the team’s success.  The coaching staff of Doug Delisa and Sal Esposito Jr. were keys to the victorious season.  The Thunder won both the Fords Tournament and Edison Tournament.  The Thunder took second in North Edison and suffered a heartbreaking loss in the District championships in Monroe.  Coach Donovan would like to thank all of the parents for putting in the time and effort which helped make the season such a success.
