SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield Tigers 4th Grade Boys Travel Basketball Team went undefeated to secure the Division Title in the Jersey Basketball Association for the 2016-2017 Season and will head to the playoffs, which begin this week.

The Tigers defeated Morristown Maroon boys 36-16 in their final division game on Feb. 16 to finish 13-0 in their regular season. Additionally, the team totaled 463 points this season in games against Springfield, Roselle, Westfield White, Chatham White, Chatham Black, Colonia, Flemington, Bernardsville, Madison, New Providence, and Morristown, outscoring their opponents on an average of 13 points per game.

The team, which is coached by Carla Brogdon, Terrence Brogdon, and Bill Pear, is comprised of 12, fourth graders from South Plainfield, including Jalen Brogdon, Caden Deakyne, Lorenzo Fuscoletti, Cory Greenleaf, Kyle Greenleaf, Nicholas Irizarry, Jordan Jones, Daniel Kapsch, Kyle Pear, Kevin Penny, Daniel Twist, and Vincenzo Venetucci.

The boys will continue their quest to become the first undefeated team from South Plainfield to earn a Championship Title in the Jersey Basketball Association at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 at the PAL.
