SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – A South Plainfield municipal vehicle caught fire and burned earlier today. The fire occurred on Dumont Avenue. The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. The fire occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m.

“It was our Assessing Vehicle,” said South Plainfield Administrator Glenn F. Cullen. “Thankfully no one was injured in the fire. The vehicle was relatively old and is not salvageable.”

Residents throughout the area watched as emergency personnel arrived at the scene to put the fire out. This is video from the fire scene:
