SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield Tigers Boys Soccer Team received goals from five different players, and the Tigers defense did enough to keep the Woodbridge Barons off the board, as the Tigers went on to defeat Woodbridge 5-0. South Plainfield’s Richard Marcovecchio, Jacob Villacres and Nick Polizzano each scored a goal and recorded an assist in the win. The Tigers also received a goal apiece from Ricky Pellegrino and Kurush Yusifiy. South Plainfield’s Jake Hoffman and Jacob Alba both recorded an assist to round out the Tigers scoring.

“I think we played well enough to win, but we did not possess as well as we should,” said South Plainfield Head Coach Anthony Perfilio. “We didn’t play with the pace we normally do, but we’ll take it.”

The Tigers pace was still enough to walk away with a lopsided victory. South Plainfield’s Nick Plate and Chris Kuberiet combined for a six save shutout victory in goal. The victory improves South Plainfield’s record to 11-5 on the season while Woodbridge falls to 2-12-2.
