EDISON, NJ – South Plainfield midfielder Jacob Villacres scored, the lone goal of the game, to lead the South Plainfield Tigers to an 1-0 victory over Edison. The victory improves South Plainfield’s record to 2-2 on the season.

“We played a bit slow after the Villacres goal, but picked up our play in the second half,” said South Plainfield head coach Anthony Perfilio. “We should have had a few more goals but we are happy with the win. Nick Plate played extremely well in goal and so did our crop of freshmen.”

The final score line did not indicate how well the Tigers played, and none better than the Tigers standout midfielder. “Villacres is so dominant on the field, he really deserved to get a goal” said Perfilio.
