The South Plainfield Cultural Arts Commission hosted the first “bark in the park” on Saturday, June 15 at the dog park in South Plainfield.   Flyers were sent out to local newspapers and various organizations for participation from South Plainfield residents.  Chrissy Lee, from the Cultural Arts Commission was the chair of this event that took place from 3 to 4 pm  at the Southside Dog Park.

The categories for judging and winners were: 

1. The cutest - A teacup Yorky named Daisy owned by Patricia

2. The best accessory - Diesel owned by the Goyette-Gerber Family dressed in the theme of Game of Thrones

3. Best Owner and Pet wearing matching outfits - Ellie a black German Shepard owned by Stephanie Bartfalvi dressed in Black with a pink emblem on her shirt and Ellie had a pink harness.

In total there were 18 dogs that participated and each dog recieved a goodie bag.  "It was a beautiful day and all had fun,"said Debbie Boyle.  " We look forward  to next year's event."
