METUCHEN, NJ – South Plainfield Lady Tigers’ Jaclyn Timmerman and Lynda Farinella each scored second half goals to rally South Plainfield to a 2-1 victory over Metuchen. After a scoreless first half, the Bulldog’ Sophia Caposino broke the scoring deadlock finding the back of the net to put Metuchen up 1-0. The goal seemed to awaken the Lady Tigers offense who played a much more aggressive second half.

“It took us a while to get in our groove, but once we played as one unit, and not individually, we were able to get the job done,” said South Plainfield Head Coach Melissa Zurawiecki. “The girls didn’t let the fact that Metuchen scored first rattle them or defeat them.”

South Plainfield goalie Tatianna Sutor turned away four Metuchen shots in recording the win. The victory improves South Plainfield’s record to 3-0 on the season.
