SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield girls field hockey team defeated Sayreville, 5-0, on Tuesday.

Meghan Hughes had two goals, while Shannon Hughes and Jessie Bishop each had a goal and an assist.  Holly DeLair had the other goal for South Plainfield.  Courtney Ross had two saves in the shutout while Sayreville goalie Sydney Capotosto had nine saves in the loss.

South Plainfield is now 7-0 while Sayreville is 1-2-1.  South Plainfield next plays at Metuchen on Thursday.
