SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Players from the South Plainfield Varsity Football Team and members of the SPHS Tiger Football Club unveiled Tigeropoly this past Tuesday evening.  Tigeropoly is a clever adaptation of the “classic” Monopoly game with businesses and spots located in South Plainfield.  Tigeropoly is being used as a fundraiser for the SPHS Football Club.  Tigeropoly allowed businesses to sponsor “Fate” cards, become a major sponsor, a property owner or perhaps sponsor the money used to play the game.  Businesses that sponsored the game are now part of South Plainfield board game history.

The SPHS Tiger Football Club which supports the Football Team wanted to give those businesses and people who supported and believed in the creation of the TIGEROPOLY Board Game the opportunity to be recognized and to network with their new "neighbors".  According to Tigeropoly founders Jackie Dickerson, Cathy Scarpitto and Alicia Torchia “tonight was not about the Football Team, it was about their supporters.  It was time to give back.”  Surrounded by many business owners, Senior Football players unveiled the awaited game board.  All those in attendance were very pleased and enthusiastic about the game.  From the beginning stages of this game's creation, the enthusiasm from South Plainfield business owners and residents was amazing. Properties sold out in less than a week and bidding wars for spots began. The Tigeropoly game board  - 2014 edition is now a part of history. It is a keepsake with many of South Plainfield's most recognized businesses memorialized.

The SPHS Football team is very grateful to have the support of so many generous and caring individuals.  They are determined to make them proud on and off the field this coming season.

Proceeds from the sale of the games will go towards equipment, camps, scholarships, banquet and needs above and beyond the school budget. Games will be on sale at the football games, Christmas in July event and at businesses including Twin City Pharmacy and ProCare Physical Therapy. Games are $30 each. For more information, please contact Team Moms - Jackie Dickerson, Cathy Scarpitto or Alicia Torchia or email SPTigerFootball2014@aol.com
