The South Plainfield Knights of Columbus Council #6203 presented organizations checks in Sept and Oct from the over $15,000 collected from there "Special Citizens Drive" that was held last April that helps New Jersey Special Citizens.

Over $12,000 was collected during their 4 day canning drive and over $3,000 was donated by local businesses and Knights members for this great cause.

Grand Knight Brian Cargill presented checks to Director Ray Fantusi from the South Plainfield Keystone Community, Gail Russell from the Midland School for the Disabled and Director Brenda Powell from Camp Sun and Fun from the ARC of Gloucester County. The Directors then gave a short talk on their organizations and explained where the donations would benefit their resident's lives. The South Plainfield Knights of Columbus have supported these organizations Special Citizens for many years.

The Knights would like to thank the following businesses Quik Chek on Sampton Ave and Durham Ave, CVS on Oak Tree Rd and Plainfield Ave, A&P, Super Stop and Shop, Shop Rite, The Bagel Pantry, Shoppers World, Ciccio's Pizza, 7-11, TD Bank, Dave's Stationary, Witty's and Oak Tree Liquors for allowing the Knights to collected in front of their stores. Plus the following local business - Oak Tree Liquors, Sherbans, The Corner Deli and B&C Deli have also allowed the Knights to have can's inside their stores all year for customers to make donations

The Knights would also like to thank the other local business for donating money and the community for donating to this drive. Chairman for the Special Citizens Drive is Joe Scrudato
