SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield Lady Tigers won their 14th game of the season defeating the Woodbridge Barrons 7-2. South Plainfield pitcher Kat Vill threw seven innings allowing two unearned runs on six hits while striking out six Barron batters.

The Tigers jumped out to three run lead in the bottom half of the 1st on hits by Caity Hughes, Meghan Hughes and Caroline Ratti. Ratti had the big hit of the inning tripling to center knocking in both of the Hughes sisters. South Plainfield tacked on four more runs in the 2nd inning on two hits, and four walks by Woodbridge starting pitcher Carly Kjersgaard.

South Plainfield’s offense was led by Caity Hughes 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored, and Caroline Ratti 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored.

The South Plainfield Lady Tigers next play April 29th, in Colonia.
