SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The student council from South Plainfield Middle School collected 749 pair of jeans for Teens for Jeans ,a national campaign from , one of the largest global not-for-profit organizations for young people and social change. Students engaged in a spirited competition between our six academic teams with TEAM AVALANCHE donating 29% of the school total and earning coveted team points for our upcoming BATTLE of the TEAMS competition at South Plainfield Middle School.

The jeans we collected were donated to the Middlesex County Youth Shelter  in North Brunswick, NJ and Saint John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark, NJ.  South Plainfield Middle School would like to thank everyone who helped conduct our campaign. "As always, our students, staff, families, friends and neighbors went above and beyond to assist those in need," said Marianne Decker.
