SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield Borough Hall once again will be the drop-off point for the annual Toys for Tots drive. The drop-off point will be at a box in Mayor Matthew Anesh’s office in Borough Hall. Toys can be dropped off now through Dec. 14.
“Last year, we collected over 1000 toys due to an overwhelming response from the community, said Mayor’s secretary. Anne Daley. “Individuals, businesses and community groups all came together to support the drive. We look forward to surpassing last year’s numbers and providing joy to the less fortunate children during the holiday season.”
The drop off for donated toys is from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The borough will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for toddlers and adolescents ages 1 to 17.
“We are excited to once again partner with the USMC and Toys for Tots,” Anesh said. “Anne does a wonderful job coordinating this important charitable event that will bring a smile to so many this season.”
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a non-profit charity that was founded in 1991. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year. The donated toys are then given out as Christmas gifts to underprivileged children in nearby communities.
