SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Police Department has arrested Deshawn Syder, 31, of Newark in the June 2nd, 2017 burglary on Fairmont Avenue in South Plainfield. According to police,  Deshawn Syder, forced entry to the rear door of the victim’s residence at approximately 9:15 AM.  Once inside, Syder removed a television, a laptop computer, a stamp collection, jewelry, and a .22 caliber handgun.

Syder was arrested on June 5th, 2017, by South Plainfield Police detectives at the Quick Check located at 317 Durham Avenue in South Plainfield without incident.

Syder was charged with the following offenses:

2nd degree armed burglary, theft, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of a handgun, certain persons not to possess a firearms, and conspiracy to commit burglary.  Syder was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center pending a pretrial detention hearing.
