On December 4, some of our Middle School team members who are also Rec sixth graders, lead our Central Jersey Team to earn their first  three victories of the season. JJ Giordano, Danny Gonzalez, and Andrew Loniewski  are our sixth grade Tigers this year who have years of experience on our SP Mats. The Central Jersey team members are Alex Pigna, Joe Celentano, Joe Stanzione, Chris Loniewski, Aldo Pigna, Aidan Kaplan, Dave Butrico, Mason Geis, Adam Bowles, Justus Niemeyer, JJ Giordano, Nick Campagna, Andrew Loniewski, Daniel Borsos, Danny Gonzalez and Nick Tonzola.

The team started the day wrestling a very tough Sussex Wantagh team. They defeated Wantagh 81-12 with only two losses.  Next, they defeated  Stillwater 73-18 and Flemington by a score of 63-33.

The last match and the battle of the day was against an aggressive Mt. Olive.  After our lightest Tiger pinned, we had a few heartbreaking losses in the light/middle weights. Mt Olive’s middle weights racked up the score where it was beginning to look as if our team would be defeated.  A determined  Central Jersey team did not concede. They began earning pin after pin when at the end, it came down to our heavyweight, Nick Tonzola, who dug deep and earned the coveted 6 point pin! Our Tigers pulled out a win of of 46-42!

This Saturday, our youngest Tigers will participate in the Pee Wee Bantam Tournament at the PAL. For some, this is the first time they will hit the mat to compete.

Our Raritan Valley Team, CJ counterpart, will also wrestle their first home match December 17th

Come out and support our  Middle School and  Rec Wrestling Teams! We look forward to watching all of our  Tigers compete this season! Go Tigers!
