SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The Borough of South Plainfield will be holding its municipal reorganization meeting on Saturday Jan 3 at 12:00 p.m. at the South Plainfield Senior Center.
New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno is scheduled to swear Mayor Matthew P. Anesh in for his second term as Mayor of the Borough of South Plainfield. Anesh’s swearing in will be the first time in 52 years a republican mayor won reelection in South Plainfield.
South Plainfield Councilmen Alex Barletta and Derryck White will also be sworn in by Guadagno. Barletta and White were reelected to a second three year term as councilmen this past November.
Anesh won reelection to another four years in November by a near 2-1 margin over challenger Chrissy Buteas.
“It is very humbling to be mayor in the town you grew up in,” Anesh said.
