SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - South Plainfield’s fourth annual Christmas in July is quickly approaching.

Hosted by the South Plainfield Business Association (SPBA), the South Plainfield Business Advisory Group (BAG) and Scarlett Ryan Consulting, the event will be held on Saturday July 30 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in downtown South Plainfield, located on South Plainfield Avenue at the intersection of Front Street.

New this year, KC’s Korner, located at 100 Oak Tree Ave. South, will host Christmas Eve in July on Friday July 29 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on the patio.

Christmas in July will begin with Breakfast with Santa at 9 a.m. at the Bagel Pantry located at 134 South Ave. At 10 a.m., the South Plainfield marching band led by Santa will parade down South Plainfield Avenue to Front Street to kick off the festivities.

There will be over 60 vendors with a variety of goods and services, photo booth, music and food, dunk tank and giveaways. There will also be a Tricky Tray sponsored by the South Plainfield Band Boosters and performances by South Plainfield’s Summer Drama Workshop, the musicians of Park Community Church and New Walk Church, Cory Singer, the South Plainfield High School Robotics Team and the South Plainfield Marching Band.

There will be alot of activities for the kids including a bounce house, crafts, hula hoop contest, treasure hunt and water balloon toss.  The festivities will wrap up around 4pm.

The Window Decorating Contest is also back this year by popular demand. Anyone interested in decorating the windows in the downtown should email their name and artwork theme to as soon as possible. South Plainfield Cultural Arts Commission will supply paint and brushes to decorate the windows.

This year there will be an antique car and diesel truck show. All funds generated from the show will be donated to Shirley Thompson for her Christmas program, which helps local underprivileged children. Event organizers ask residents to bring a new unwrapped toy to the event. The goal is to fill a pickup truck full of toys to make this coming Christmas very special for children in need throughout our community.
