GLENSIDE, Pa – Junior Bryan Gillen was named Third Team All-America by, becoming the first All-America recipient in program history, the organization announced Wednesday. To be eligible, a player must have made the All-Region Team, which Gillen earned First Team honors.
Gillen, who was named MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year and earned First Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors, led the team in hitting (.415), runs (65), hits (80), walks (25), total bases (114), and stolen bases (24). His runs, hits, and total bases numbers all set single-season program records. The MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament MVP was perfect defensively, registering 128 putouts and five assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
