SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield seniors Jake Alba, and Richard Marcovecchio each scored a goal, and a swarming Tigers defense limited Colonia to just three shots on goal as the Tigers went on to defeat Colonia 2-0.

South Plainfield fired 12 shots on Colonia goalie Ryan Litterer. South Plainfield goalie Nick Plate got the win turning away all three shots from Colonia.

“The game was a bit slow today,” said South Plainfield Head Coach Anthony Perfilio. “It was nice to get the win, but we need a little more energy. We are going to need it going against a tough Sayreville team.”

The victory improves South Plainfield’s record to 5-3 on the season, while Colonia falls to 3-3.
