WILDWOOD, NJ - On Friday, June 6, 2014 Peter D. Smith was installed as the 101st President of the New Jersey State Elks Association (NJSEA).  Peter, a South Plainfield resident and member of the South Plainfield Planning Board, joined the South Plainfield Elks Lodge #2298 in 1988.  He is a past Exalted Ruler, Past Vice President and Past District Deputy.

Peter is married to Sandi Smith, a kindergarten teacher in Hillsborough.  The Smith’s have six children and two grandchildren.

In addition to his 27 years of service within the Elks organization, Peter has served his country.  He has been a member of the New Jersey Army National Guard for nine years.  He has also volunteered as Athletic Director at Sacred Heart School, now Holy Savior Academy. Pete continues to officiate at High School basketball and soccer games.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, his family, friends and the residents of South Plainfield, all wish President Smith all the best in the coming 2014/2015 Elks year.
