The South Plainfield Amateur Radio Club is proud of its 2016 achievements. Membership is up and moral is high.
David Hackett, KD2FSI; Chairman of the 2016 Field Day Committee, reports that American Radio Relay League (ARRL) results for the event put SPARC within the top 10 percent of all listed entries in all categories. NJ2SP (SPARC’s Call Sign) placed 274 against 2697 listed entries in all categories operating with only 5 watts. And on the 3A battery category SPARC placed 6th out of 13 entries. David and SPARC would like to congratulate all participants.
Larry Makoski, W2LJ; reports that he and Marvin Bronstein, K2VHW; held classes at the SPARC location to enable new participants to amateur radio to earn their Technician Class FCC Licenses. The new Tech’s are: Karen Markley,-KD2MHD; Lee Ann Graziano, KD2MHE; Jhon Chavez, KD2MHG; Rhadarnes Chavez, KD2MHF and Bilal As-Sayyid, KD2MHH. The final exam was administered by Larry, Marvin and Tim Holloran, AB2ZK.
Marvin Bronstein, president of SPARC announced that SPARC’s Holiday Party will be held on Dec. 9th at the Community Policing Bldg at 7 PM.
Wayne Grennier, N2LRE; has been appointed as SPARC’s Public Information Officer (PIO).
