The Boy Scouts of America Amateur (Ham) Radio Station: K2BSA, is on the air during the 2017 National Scout Jamboree, July 18 to July 28, from the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia. The K2BSA operation will demonstrate Amateur Radio to several thousand Scouts and fulfill the Radio Merit Badge requirement for contacts (QSOs).
Last Saturday, July 22, the South Plainfield Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) joined the fun. They operated from the gazebo in Spring Lake Park. Several contacts with Scouts at the Jamboree were made on the 20 and 40 meter bands.
SPARC encourages the South Plainfield community to learn more about amateur radio. Join them to experience the fun of Amateur Radio and making new friends!
