The South Plainfield Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) has been invited to take part in the Borough’s first Emergency Service Show on Saturday, August 4th in Veterans Park from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The event is sponsored by the South Plainfield Police Dept. in cooperation with the South Plainfield Library.  SPARC is affiliated with South Plainfield’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) under the Community Emergency Response Team Program (CERT). SPARC supplies emergency communications as necessary and provides support to community events as required by OEM.

This event is free and is a family event open to the public, providing an education on Emergency Services for all ages. It is anticipated that visitors will see modern to antique police cars, fire apparatus, and ambulances. There will be food trucks and restroom facilities available. At approximately 11 AM, a landing zone will be established for a helicopter landing

SPARC encourages residents to come out and support the event. For information on Amateur Radio or the event, please contact SPARC’s President, Marvin Bronstein (K2VHW) at: Marvin Bronstein <marvbrons@verizon.net>
