SPHS Boys Bowling Captures Bayshore Holiday Classic Crown


ABERDEEN, NJ – The South Plainfield Boys bowling team rolled down to the Bayshore area and bowled over the competition edging out top seed Keyport 915-906 in the Bayshore Holiday Classic. The South Plainfield Girls and Boys both participated in the holiday classic at Strathmore Lanes.

The win was the South Plainfield boys bowling team’s first tournament championship of the season.

The Tigers knocked off Keansburg 955-857 in the semifinal round before dispatching Keyport in the finals.

South Plainfield’s Angelo Salici won high game with a 267 and also won high series with a 721. Salici ended the day with a 958 overall series.


The Tigers had to bowl two games to qualify for 3rd seed.

South Plainfield lady tigers made it to the semifinals where they lost to Ocean 901 - 765.

Lanasia Neal won high game with a 257 and also won high series with a 703 for the lady tigers.
