SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield’s Michael Marrero and John Boyce each scored a goal, and the Tigers defense shutdown Carteret’s offense as the Tigers went on to win 2-0. The victory avenges a 3-2 loss for the Tigers earlier this season at the hands of Carteret.

“Carteret is very strong up the middle and up top,” said South Plainfield head coach Anthony Perfilio. “We played very wide today and our defense was good. This was a good win.”

The Tigers’ defense was good bottling up Carteret for most of the game. The victory inches the Tigers closer to the .500 mark with a record of 6-8-1.
