SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Jean McKimm has resided in the borough since 1957 and has been an active member of the South Plainfield Senior Center since 2007.
She has 3 daughters and is an active member at Sacred Heart Parish. Jean takes exercise with “Greg” 3 times a week and Yoga with “Pat” 2 times per week.
Jean loves the day trips offered at the senior center, especially the Oktoberfest and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at either Doolan’s in Spring Lake or the Brownstone in Paterson.
Jean’s favorite meal at the center is chicken cordon blue and mashed potatoes.
She celebrates her birthday in November and when she’s not at the center – you can find Jean with a group of friends at Spring Lake Park, the Library for movie day or the community pool.
“The Senior Center has become the talk of the town-lots of friends, breakfast, lunch, programs, trips, parties Tree keeps us busy and is ALWAYS here to listen, laugh, and bring new programs for all the seniors to enjoy – We are very lucky to have her,' said Jean. "It’s the best $10 you will ever spend”
"Jean has always been so kind to me – even when I first arrived, she was one of the first people to welcome me and very quick to sign up for things, spread the word around town how great the center is," said Tree Olano, Senior Center Director. "Oh, and that laugh! It’s truly contagious!"
