SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Dozens of South Plainfield High School student athletes, along with their coaches, briefly put aside their summer vacation plans and returned to school the evening of June 21. During the board of education’s June 21 Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting, members of the base ball, softball, lacrosse, golf, and track teams were honored with their successes during the spring 2017 season.

“We would like to take this time to recognize all our student athletes and the coaches who made us so proud again during the season,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Noreen Lishak. “I really cannot express to you how proud I am. It seems as though,  at the end of every season, we have so many things to be happy about and so many congratulations to give.”

Ronnie Spring, principal of South Plainfield High School, then took the podium to welcome current students and recent graduates along with family and friends. “Some of our best athletes are also our most-rounded students,” said Spring, noting that South Plainfield’s coaches ‘preach more than just x’s and o’s.
