UNION, NJ - Kean University will be the site of a discussion about the "new media" that will include an appearance by Mike Shapiro, chief executive officer and publisher of http://www.TAPinto.net, a network of online local newspapers, on April 21.

Shapiro will join Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick, former Governors Jim McGreevey and Don DiFrancesco, Union County Sheriff Joe Cryan, NJTV News correspondent Michael Aron, blogger Art Gallagher and a representative from PolitickerNJ to participate in the forum, which begins at 1 p.m.

Bramnick (R-Union, Morris and Somerset) will lead the discussion on the impact of social media, instant reporting and bloggers and their effect on elected officials.
