Taste of South Plainfield to ­Feature Fare of New Restaurants


SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Tickets are on sale for the South Plainfield Business Association’s sixth annual Taste of South Plainfield. The event will take place at the South Plainfield Senior Center, 90 Maple Ave., on Monday, March 13 from 6 to 9 p.m.

This very popular event will feature all-you-can-eat selections from many local restaurants. Guests will be able to sample gourmet and ethnic specialties and desserts. Wine Country, located next to Target in Hadley Center Mall, will be providing a variety of wines and craft beers to sample at six separate tables, each offering a unique assortment of liquid temptations.

Returning this year will be Ciccio’s Pizza, Hometown Heros, Uncle Louie G, La Bonbonniere Bake Shoppe, Mr. Subs, Sherban’s Restaurant and KC’s Korner. New this year are Casa Romero, El Refin Mexican Restaurant, Rodolfo’s Pizzeria, Imperial Deli, Little Nicky’s Hot Dogs, Maries Sweets, In and Outs Bagels and Kenny’s Empanadas.

This is a great opportunity for our local restaurant owners to get acquainted with the more than 150 residents in attendance who will be sampling their food. So, bring your appetite and enjoy a variety of food from our South Plainfield Restaurants. Space is limited, so reserve a spot now.

Non-food vendors are welcome to set up a table in the hall. The cost for non-food vendors is one ticket.

During the event, the Business Association, along with the mayor and council, will recognize businesses that have been operating in South Plainfield for 30 years or more.

Advance purchase tickets are $20 per person or $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member listed below or at the Observer office, 1110 Hamilton Blvd.

All proceeds go directly to scholarships for South Plainfield High School seniors. To make a tax-deductible donation toward the high school scholarships, contact South Plainfield Business Association President Nancy Grennier at (908) 668-0010 or mail your check to SPBA, P.O. Box 852, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
