The South Plainfield Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) wants to thank the Borough of South Plainfield’s Mayor and Council, The Office of Emergency Management, SPFLD Police Dept., Middlesex Co. Parks Department, County Park Rangers, ARRL Representatives, HCT-NJ, our residents and all Amateur Radio Operators who participated. making ARRL Field Day-2018 a successful event

The event took place at Spring Lake Park located in South Plainfield on June 23 – 24, 2018 for 24 hours from 2 PM Saturday thru 2 PM Sunday, the activities started on June 18th when the Mayor and Council presented SPARC a Proclamation honoring Amateur Radio Week.

The event was self-sustained using solar panels, batteries and a generator for the 24hr period. Operators were able to hone their necessary skills required during an emergency condition. During the period of operation over “500” contacts were established within the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands using various frequencies and modes of operation.
