Last week while GMC Team Tournaments were getting underway, a few conference awards were being finalized. Senior Ashley Veliz was honored as an All-Conference Girls’ Lacrosse Player. Her aggressive style and hard work ensured her this distinction.
On the season, Ashley leads the team with 43 goals on the season. She also has the most ground balls for the team at 85. In her career, Ashley has made the prestigious 100th goal club. She scored her 100th career goal on Senior Day, April 29th in a win against JP Stevens. Currently she has 108 goals in her career with five games left to play. With all these accolades Ashley will finish as one of the most decorated players for South Plainfield. Ashley is having a fantastic career for the Tigers and will be missed by the South Plainfield Girls’ Lacrosse Program.
Each week the South Plainfield High School Athlete Department will feature an athlete of the week.
