With the beginning of the Competition Cheer season underway, Danielle McParland began her last season with a bang. On December 8th, Danielle was awarded and selected by the New Jersey Cheerleading and Dance Coaches Association (NJCDCA) to become a recipient and member of the NJCDCA All-State team. As stated at the awards breakfast, “Only the best of the best get chosen.” With over 50 applicants, Danielle was one out of the nineteen recipients in the state to receive this honor. To qualify elite skills in the areas of tumbling, stunting, and jumps are required, as well as being in good academic standing.
Danielle has devoted much of her time to Competitive Cheerleading beginning her Competition Cheerleading career at a very young age. She has been a talented and valued member of the SPHS Varsity Competition Cheer team since her Freshman Year and has shown continuous growth since. During her time on the team she has become a Group 2 State Champion, Varsity Medium Division State Champion, took Second Place at Nationals, and is also an NCA All-American Team Recipient. In addition, she is one of the three current team Captains. Danielle continues to learn and bring new skills and talent to the team and is excited to compete for one last season as a Tiger.
