Michael DeAngelis of the Boys' Track Team is off to a fast start this spring season.  Mike has competed in eight relay events and walked away with eight medals while helping his teammates compete against some of the state’s best track programs.  Two weeks in a row, Mike has teamed up with DeShai Smith in the High Jump Relay and both times Mike and Deshai claimed the gold.  Mike has jumped over 6 feet at each competition.

So far this spring relay season, Mike has proven to be the true team player, willing to participate in any event.  On the track, Mike has run some of the best 400 meter intermediate hurdle times in the county while helping his teammates, Jack Cochrane, Al Garcia and Caleb Kuberiet, take first place at the Raritan Rocket Relays and second place last weekend at the Matawan Husky Relays.  In addition, Mike, Jack, River Dress and Marteese Jones broke the school record in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay on Saturday.  Mike ran a blistering anchor time of 14.6 seconds on the way to setting the new record of 1 minute and 4 seconds.  Mike and River then went on to win the triple jump with Mike jumping into the 40 foot range for the second straight meet.  The team will look towards Mike for continued success as they vie for another division title in the spring season.
