SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Boys’ Bowling Team finished a competitive season. The Tigers saw steady improvement throughout the season which enabled them to become consistent bowlers. The team finished with a record of 10-6. Some highlights were winning the Bayshore Holiday Classic. Also, the South Plainfield Boys’ Bowlers finished as the GMC Blue Division Champions and were fourth overall in the Central Jersey Group II Sectionals. The Greater Middlesex Conference just decided on their winter awards. Michael Menkin was selected as All-Blue Division for Boys’ Bowling.
Junior Michael Menkin has been one of the leaders for the Tiger Bowlers this past season. During the season Michael bowled an average of about 196 per game. He had a high game of 248 against rival Middlesex. Michael also bowled his high series of 648 the same day. Michael’s solid bowling helped South Plainfield to win the division this year. Individually Michael showed he could compete with the elite bowlers in the GMC, qualifying 7th in the GMC Individual Tournament and finishing 15th. With a year left in his career the Tigers are excited to have Michael back to help defend their division title.
