SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Football advanced to the state sectional semi-final game this week by defeating Lawrence 27-6 in the first round of the playoffs. During this game, the Tigers were led by Sophomore Zach DelVecchio. He was able to help South Plainfield control the clock by rushing for 145 yards. Zach was also a leader on defense, making 7 tackles and 1 sack.
On the season, Zach has been a workhorse for South Plainfield. He has accumulated 780 yards rushing and 93 yards receiving all for 7 touchdowns. On the defensive end, Zach has been involved in 38 total tackles, has one sack, and one fumble recovery. With his continued work ethic, Zach will hopefully help lead the Tigers back to their first state final since 2007.
