SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - On one of the nicer days of the Spring season, the Tigers home opener at West Nine vs. Colonia could not have been sweeter, last year the Tigers lost both matches against the Patriots costing them in the standings.  Today the story was different, as the young Tigers dominated with a 29 point win over the Patriots (171-200) for their third straight win.

Senior Captain Brandon Wizda led the way with his lowest round of the season (39).  Wizda’s twenty foot birdie putt on the Par 3 fifth hole highlighted his round today.  Junior Alex Amato also chipped in with a season low (41), adding a birdie of his own on the Par 4 ninth hole.  Rookie Senior John Roarty helped the Tigers with his (45), and David Bickunas (46) rounded out the scoring.

Earlier in the week the Tigers defeated Woodbridge in a rain shortened match (123-142)  Alex Ardito, Alex Amato, John Roarty, and Brian Maszczak all contributed to the win with solid play.

After their 0-3 start, the Tigers first win came on April 11th vs. New Brunswick at Tara Greens (188-276) Brandon Wizda, Marc Giordano, John Roarty and Brian Maszczak all scored well in helping the Tigers start their winning streak.

With eight new players competing for spots in the starting line-up, and the team playing well, it should be an exciting finish to the 2018 season.

Next week the Tigers will play four matches in five days, and now have the momentum to avenge earlier losses to JFK and Sayreville.
